It all started when Malcolm was 6 years old: he was playing football when the ball got kicked into some allotments, he went to retrieve it and found he was fascinated by the plants all lined up in neat little rows. This started a life-long passion for gardens and plants – not only growing them, but also drawing and painting them. Come and see Malcolm’s floral artwork at Mirfield Library and meet him during the Festival.
Malcolm was ‘spotted’ in Mirfield by one of the Festival committee members at the beginning of the year, and we are excited to be able to offer the first public showing of his work. You’ll be able to view his work at the library, and prints of his fine paintings will be available to purchase.
We are always looking for hidden talent for the next Mirfield Arts Festival. If you live or work in Mirfield (or have other connections with the town), and have an artistic talent that you feel needs to be seen, we would like to hear from you. We’re open to suggestions, and we’ll discuss the work at a panel meeting early next year to find out who our Hidden Talent 2019 is!
